Spanish giants Sevilla and Villarreal are locked in the battle for Genoa forward Giovanni Simeone, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has been in excellent
form since joining the Rossoblu from River Plate, bagging 9 goals in 20
appearances this season.
As a result, he has caught the eye of top European clubs, with
Sevilla and Villarreal recently submitting official proposals for the
21-year-old footballer,
But even though Genoa have been offered as much as €18 million for
their prized asset, they have refused to sanction the sale, clearly
hoping they would get even more money at the end of the season.
The likes of Inter Milan and AC Milan are also among Simeone’s
suitors, with the youngster enjoying another great season after getting
his career back on track during the loan spell with Banfield, where he
had scored 12 goals in 34 league outings.
